Digital Content Manager
We are currently looking for an E-Commerce Content, Product, and Service Manager to oversee our website, online sales, and develop new initiatives. This person will be an energetic, creative, self-motivated, highly organized professional with several years of experience in digital marketing who possesses an in-depth knowledge of e-commerce, programming, and SEO — and, ideally, in the know with emerging technology trends, has an interest in design, science, and the arts. We are looking for someone who is interested in helping to lead the web to its full potential.
The role will be focused on our online platform — which is the hub between our design studio, publication, and non-profit organization. The focus will be developing new content, streamlining online revenue, and creating a positive user experience for our customers.
Main responsibilities will include content management, online curation and merchandising, order-fulfillment for digital sales, and programming new features for our website, in tandem with our programmers and designers, as we transition to offering new services and design initiatives. The successful candidate will thrive on collaboration and will possess an in-depth knowledge of the digital-sales and e-commerce landscape. This role will be a pivotal position on our team, supporting the Director of Operations and Founder.
We are looking for someone who is interested in and passionate about the work we do and who ideally will want to grow with us long-term. This is an exciting and special opportunity for the right candidate, as they will be given a lot of creative freedom and will have the opportunity to spearhead new digital initiatives. As our organization is currently in a moment of growth and transition, the schedule may be flexible at first. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position may eventually involve some travel.
This is a full-time position with health care benefits, working a majority of time from the office in Harlem (until we find our new office downtown) the first year, with remote working options depending on our current focus and deadlines. Must be flexible and open to change, multi-tasking, and learning new things while staying organized.
Responsibilities:
—Develop, implement, and manage our digital and e-commerce strategy.
—Assist in organizing web content for Hesperios.com, including site content, production updates, and new launches.
—Monitor website and social-media accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and assist in resolving issues.
—Fulfill online orders, pack and ship merchandise, and communicate with customers about orders and shipment and manage inventory.
—Work with editors and designers to ensure all digital content is clear, informative, and appealing.
—Monitor SEO and user engagement and conceive of ways to optimize performance and improve search rankings.
—Support to properly photograph, merchandise, and update products on the site.
—Take initiative in developing new concepts with the founder and continually pushing our site into new territory with our editorial and production teams.
Requirements:
—At least two years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or related fields.
—In-depth understanding of SEO and other e-commerce analytics.
—Familiarity with web-design and publishing.
—A keen visual sense and a sharp eye for detail.
—Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced retail environment.
—Strong communication skills, both in person and in writing.
—Working knowledge of WordPress, WooCommerce, MS Office, Photoshop, GSuite, Analytics.
—Familiarity with or willingness to learn Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe CreateSuite.
—Familiarity with social-media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and good understanding of social media KPIs.
—Knowledge of Python 3.9 is strongly preferred.
—A background in Computer Science is a plus.
