Henrik Nygren

Henrik Nygren is an award-winning visual designer who has been working closely with Autumn Hrubý since 2011.

As Sweden’s premier graphic designer, Nygren has helmed his own studio — Henrik Nygren Design — for more than 20 years, working in the fields of book design, exhibition design, identity and branding, packaging, and communications. His practice caters to cultural organizations such as the Baltic Center for Contemporary Art, Pace Gallery, Moderna Museet Malmö, the Hasselblad Center, and Phaidon books.

There is an effortless simplicity to Nygren’s work, a Scandinavian modernism that stands in counterpoint to the excess of most visual communication today. His art direction of Stockholm New magazine in the 1990s presaged a global return to restrained typographic palettes and bold photo editorial direction in publications.
